The countdown is on to opening day! To say that there are a lot of irons in the fire is an undertsatment. Work at the property continues 5 or 6 days per week, but we need more help. Volunteer attendance this winter has been poor, and the same 10 individuals are getting tired.
A number of ongoing projects continue:
- L&PS 8's new windows are still ongoing. Help is needed to get them completed
- 416's seats are progressing well, but additional assistance would be appreciated.
- The giftshop renovations are in the home stretch, but help is needed with painting and cleanup
- Barn 3& 4 upgrades are nearly complete for the winterm but help is needed with cleanup
- The grounds need the usual "Post snow melt" cleanup prior to opening
- the service cars all need to be cleaned out before service.
Upcoming Projects:
- Installation of parts storage containers
- Construction of the new flammable shed
- Complete TP-11 restoration
- Complete 4600 bodywork & paint
- Barn 1 Repairs
- Display Boxcar
- Grounds cleanup & scrap processing
There is something for everyone, and I'd like to encourage everyone to get involved as they can.
